Dicor valve extenders...

Mike, Thanks a lot! I never expected you to go into so much detail. I hope it wasn't too much trouble. When I was at Camping World, the person I spoke with said that he didn't like the airless stems that Wheel Masters had. He said that there is a small needle or valve that needed to be fine tuned and it was easy to get out of adjustment and could cause the air to leek out. Just what you want to avoid! Thanks for all the other info. By the way, I was at Sam's Club last week and took a look at their booster battery boxes after you made such a good case for having one,( I will carry jumper cables too, just incase) and I don't think they are selling the same model that you had purchased. The current model incorporated an air compressor and was selling for under $50. I remember you saying to not consider the compressor type because they were not powerful enough. Thanks again! Steve (In Ohio where we are STILL freezing our ..... off)

Steve, Some of that info was on other emails or posts I've made so using copy and paste it really didn't take that much time.
All Sam's Club stores I've been in are different and some sell things others don't carry and some items are the same in all of them. None are even set up the same! The one in Orlando doesn't carry the exact one I have anymore either. It's a shame in some ways, it does lack the reverse polarity indicator but the fluorescent light is a big plus! They had two there last time I was there a couple weeks ago.
One had the compressor and a small incandescent light but did have the reverse polarity indicator. The other was only a jump starter also with the reverse polarity indicator. Both were cheaper than mine but don't have nearly the usability. The air compressor in them won't pump up the LD tires beyond about 65psi but for anything to that pressure that doesn't require it to run more than 10 minutes it's fine on. If it had a fan-cooled compressor and a better clamp for the valve stem it would be better but it works great for lots of other things and keeping car tires properly inflated.

The important thing with them is to get one with at least a 17-amp hour or larger battery in it. Those typically have a 400 cranking amp/1100 peak amp rating or better.

I won't rub the temp down here today or the past few weeks in your face! It is overcast today though with possible liquid sunshine. Stay warm!

Mike
