Help for Kathi R February 17, 2003, 06:14:55 pm Yahoo Message Number: 19081This is a request for Kathi R (remember that she was in a wreck in Texas in January). She's here (in Arizona) where I am, and has a request. She's going to the Mother Ship later this month, where they will do the paint and body repair for her. It's going to take several days, and she needs a campground within 10-20 miles from LD. She doesn't have access to email, so I'll give her any info you send along. She prefers an inexpensive place, or a safe place to boondock. She'll be here about a week, and we thank you in advance -Sarah, Mz. Daisy and the Saturn, in Casa Grande, AZ.

I'm only aware of two RV parks close to LD, the KOA at the Fairplex (http://www.koa.com/where/ca/05438.htm), and the East Shore RV Park at Puddingstone Reservoir (http://www.eastshorervpark.com/). The KOA is about 5 miles away and East Shore is about 7 miles away. But both are pretty expensive at around $30/night. We had reason to stop by the factory last week and stayed at the East Shore RV Park. It's a nice facility. The area right around the factory is not the sort of place that I'd recommend spending nights. It is not considered proper RV etiquette to spend multiple nights at a Walmart. Is she going to be able to get her rig back at the end of each day?Art

It may be a bit further, but she might try Lake Perris State Recreation Area. It's nicest in winter. Here is the CA State Parks Reservation site, although I doubt she'd need one. http://www.reserveamerica.com/client/client_ca.jspYou might also search for Riverside County or San Bernardino County parks.
Re: [Life With A Lazy Daze RV] Help for Kathi R Reply #4 – February 17, 2003, 10:44:57 pm Yahoo Message Number: 19087Hi Sarah and Kathy There is a place called East Shore RV Park at Puddingstone Lake, that is, I hear, about 5 miles from the LD place. There is an 800 #. It is 1-800-809-3778. Unfortunately I didn't ask the price when I made my reservation. (advised) Sounds like there is a lot to do there. Wildlife and birds! But she can give them a call and see what they charge per night. Good luck.Mac No Cal

I don't know how long she'll be there, but I'm sure it will be several days. Thanks to all of you for the ideas - I'll give her what you've sent so far, and if the rest of you have other ideas, just send them along.Happy trails, Sarah in Casa Grande, AZ
