Board Behind Driver Seat 2 months ago Hey, LD gurus. I'm recarpeting the cab and I have a question rearding the vertical board behind the driver seat. It's just a carpeted piece of 1/2" plywood. What's it for? I'd like to just do away with it. Thanks.jor
Re: Board Behind Driver Seat Reply #1 – 2 months ago I took mine out for a recarpeting job, and didn't put it back.It did leave a view of the control boxes for the levelers that are located under the drivers seat. I fixed that with a piece of fabric to make a sort of curtain/cover. I highly recommend putting in some sound deadening on the floor while you have things apart. It made a big difference in sound/heat/comfort for longer drives. Rich

Re: Board Behind Driver Seat Reply #3 – 2 months ago Well, it defines the rearward translation of the seat and keeps stuff from migrating under it to jam the mechanism and cause a problem. Probably wise to keep it.Steve 1 Likes Liked by: mrfixit454

Re: Board Behind Driver Seat Reply #6 – 2 months ago Thank, guys. I like to keep things very accessible so I'm not going to replace it. Rich, I am adding a layer of heat/sound insulation. jor
