A Lucky 🍀 Husband
First let me get the LD content into this message.  Margee probably “loves” our Lazy Daze more than I do, which is saying something.  Now … Margee (my best friend) and I are celebrating 🎉 our 53 anniversary today.  I’m so lucky that she has put up with me for this long.   It also makes me wonder how many others in the Neighborhood have a similar experience and time?

Congratulations, 53 years is a long time.
My wife and I joined our lives together 50 years ago this past summer.
Time flies when you are having a good time.
I'm not sure which one of us loves our LD more.

We had our 56th anniversary last October.

In 2005 we drove our Lazy Daze to Alaska from NE Ohio. I remember wondering how so much time together in an aluminum can would stress our marriage. We survived!

When I wonder out loud if it is time to sell our rig, I get an emphatic "NO!"😁

Pat and I had nearly 20 years together in our LD and 57 years of marriage before she died. Definitely I liked the LD more than she. I know for a fact she joined the LD family because of me. That said, as long as I took care of "things" - maybe everything, she was happy, and I was, too, because I like to be in charge of "things".  I have such good memories of watching in the rear view mirror, Pat sleeping on the couch with Jack and Gracie, our goldendoodles, snuggled at her feet, as I tooled along the road.

My wife and I will celebrate anniversary #54 later this month.  We have owned a Lazy Daze for half of those years.   Prior to our first Lazy Daze we owned a 1984 Get-Away camper van on a GMC chassis for a few years.  As I recall, Get-Away vans were built in British Columbia from about 1983 - 1996.

Hi Ed, Larry,  Steve K., Chris and Paul:Trudy and I are celebrating our 54 th anniversary today on December 5th. Here we are at the LD Caravan Club outing at Desert Hot Springs (Cal).
So we have had our '99 Lazy Daze since new for over half our married life!  We count an 8.5 foot slide in camper, and a 1980 Lindy class 'C'  before we decided to go first class with a new LD T/K in 2000.
We've always had camping together in our common interests, since back packing, to car camping, truck and camper camping to  Lazy Daze. And taking our pets with us. (never thought we would have three cats! with us).
And thank You Chris for letting me shepard our camping extended family.  I'm sorry I never met Pat. And a special mention to our third moderator Judie Ashford for sticking with Larry and I in the background. I wish your husband could have been with us also.  RonB

Like so many others, Gary and I shared our 36 years of marriage centered mostly around the Lazy Daze world.  We started out in a 1977 Volkswagen Campmobile and then moved up to a 1987 Westfalia, but in 1991, we found Gertie, our 1985 TK that we purchased in the Bay Area.  Had never heard of the brand, and found the ad in the San Jose Mercury News FOR SALE column.  There certainly was no RV Trader then!  ;->  It was nearly ten years before we found the on-line group, but I'm certainly glad that we did!

We fulltimed in a 40-foot behemoth for eight years, but went back to our 2005 Silver RB in 2009, when Gary could no longer handle the big rig due to the scourges of the cancer.

I am grateful every day for all of the wonderful years that we RV'd, even at the low level near the end.  I guess it just gets in your blood!  Gertie was our pride and joy as it allowed us to just pull over and get out the skis anywhere a snowy meadow appeared alongside the road.  So many wonderful memories!

I no longer have the RB, but she is well taken care of, and loved, but do have a smaller Leisure Travel Unity now.

But RV'ing will always mean Lazy Daze to me!

   Virtual hugs,

   Judie

Congratulations to all of you that have been married for such a long time! Victoria and I are relative newlyweds, going on year 23 (second marriage for us both). As far as the Lazy Daze, I am definitely more into it than she. After all, I owned the ‘85 TK before we ever met so, as they say, you never forget your first love.  🤣😗  I’m working on her though and I think she’s coming around.  😉

Seriously though, please value and love those in your lives with all your heart and mind. Tragically this week, two friends and former Tehachapi neighbors lost their long-time (over 50 years) husbands, one on Monday morning, the other on Tuesday evening. Victoria is there now visiting with both ladies. It’s been a real heartbreaker and eye opener for us, one that is prompting us to get our affairs in order and appreciate each other even more.  We never know when God will call us home, so treat each day, and those in your life, as a gift!

Well spoken Greg, bringing to mind that I lost my loving wife, Claire, of 45 years only 20 short years ago in May of 2005. My heart still aches!  :'(

We will celebrate 57 years later this month. We loved our TK equally and had 15 years of rv memories with it.  Does RVing promote long marriages?  Seems to, by this forum’s experience!  — Loni & Jon

Cyndy and I are at 47 years.  I loved our 4x4 truck and Lance camper and Cyndy liked it.  Cyndy wanted a Lazy Daze, so I gave the camper to one of our children for her family and bought the Lazy Daze.

Cyndy loves it and I like it. Same story: I've asked about selling it and she says "NO!"

Cathy and I were married for 59 years before she passed away 2 years ago.  While we had a 5th wheel and small trailer after we sold our 2000 MB, she always wanted to go back to a Lazy Daze.  While I still RV, (mainly to Bluegrass festivals) I sure miss Cathy and the  LD get-togethers, many, many fond memories.

Celebrating our 16th anniversary today! Hope you both had a great anniversary. My wife agreed to my crazy idea to get a LD so she’s obviously a keeper!
