Recommendations for cargo door seals
Hello everyone,

I have a 2000 Rear Kitchen 26.5. On one of my cargo doors the rubber seal is loose in places and on another door the rubber seal is missing. What do you recommend for rubber seal replacement and also for glue to fix the loose one? I remember reading something about the replacement here several months ago but cannot find the message.

Hi Kevin.  The loose seals have double sided tape from the factory that has come loose. On my two LD's (a friends) the neoprene itself was in good shape. I removed what was left of the double sided tape. Cleaned with acetone.  Alcohol on the mating surface because acetone will dissolve the paint. A final quick wipe with acetone will make the paint sticky. I think that helps the glue stick.  I used non foaming clear Gorilla polyurethane glue.    I used to use wooden clothes pins, but it doesn't apply even pressure, and you have to leave the compartment door open for 24 hours or so.  Now I use the clothes pins, apply 3/4" blue painters tape between the pins. Remove the pins and put more painters tape where the pins were, then close the compartment door for a few days.  The tape peels off well and the gasket sticks to the frame. (wait too long and it is harder to get the tape off without pulling off the gasket)  I use car wax to keep the door from sticking to the gasket. Yearly I try to repeat coat the gaskets and mating frame on all of the compartment doors.
   I found several mentions, Reply#12 Entry (screen) door weather stripping   I know that there are suitable replacement seal materials on line.  RonB
