I've been using a $124.99 Bestek 1,000 W pure sine inverter for a number of years now. As far as I can see, its features and specs are the same as the Kisae unit, if not better.One owner of the 1,000 W Kisae inverter wrote that "970 watt draw (microwave oven) causes a 'near overload' alarm", whereas an owner of the Bestek unit wrote that "My coffee machine used about 1100W and my microwave used almost 1200! Despite being over the rated output of this inverter there were no issues." Another Bestek owner wrote "when I tried my microwave which was more than it's rating it ran for about 1 minute and safely shut down which is what I expected at around 1400 watts. No problem resting it after the overload."Personally, I've used the Bestek inverter a number of times to operate power tools (DeWalt router, MultiMaster oscillating tool, etc.) when doing carpentry in the boondocks. Since I don't carry a generator with my Airstream, once I even used the Bestek inverter to top up my house batteries, powering it from my truck's electrical system with the engine idling. I wouldn't want to make a habit of that--long-term idling isn't good for an engine--but in an emergency it worked, and I was able to pump 40 amps into the house batteries via a Sterling smart charger. Re: Inverter Reply #2 – October 11, 2024, 05:27:23 am Hi Greg; I have been using my 2kw inverter (Pure Sine Wave) from Amazon for a year and a half to run my (old lower power microwave circa '99, or a hair dryer 1100W) with no problems. Amazon.com: Novopal Power Inverter Pure Sine Wave 2000 Watt 12V DC to... $200 with Prime this week I think. Mine fit inside the cabinetry, and the remote control panel is all that is visible. The inverter shows a drop in voltage as the microwave cycles on and off. About 6 feet away from the batteries (12' there and back) #2 cable. If I get in there again, I will change it to #0 wiring in case I upgrade the microwave someday. That circuit has a 200A fuse. With a price that close to your Kisae, I'd go with the more capable inverter. It does have two small fans that run when it gets hot. (I mounted it near the space heater and outlet vent, and when I run that, the fans come on even not using the inverter). RonB edit(added) I used this wire, very flexible with EPDM (tough stuff!) insulation: 2 Gauge 2 AWG 10 Feet Black + 10 Feet Red (20 Feet Total) Welding Battery... and you need to affix ring terminal ends, I used a crimper, and soldered, and heat shrink over the ends. Pure sine wave inverters prices have dropped a lot over the years, get one that can run anything in your LD,I have used a GIANDEL 2200-watt Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter, at Steve B's suggestion, for almost three years. It easily produces the 1500 watts needed to operate the microwave. Like Hilola, I also have a mid bath (and a Forester!) and mounted the Giandel under the frig. From that location it's not too hard to run the Romex over to the ac distribution center.jor

With four 100 amp lithiums, I’m able to use the AC for at least two hours midday, making space for more solar energy and still have it full by the evening.

Any voltage drops while attempting to draw over 80 amps from the batteries could easily cause a problem.Steve

Maybe the reviewer whose Kisae inverter complained of a 970 watt load was feeding it with inadequate wire--we have no way to know. So the reviews have to be taken with a grain of salt. Still, I have to say that just based upon published specs, it doesn't seem as if that $248 Kisae inverter is worth twice as much as an inverter with similar specs, such as the $125 Bestek unit I mentioned. 1 Likes
