Is it just me or was the 60's and 70's the best decades for music?

The best decade for music is the one in which you come of age.
In my case, the 60’s and 70’s are the best, someone born twenty years later should prefer the 80’s and 90’s music.

I had a huge album collection, into all kinds of music. It was in storage for about 20 years until last year.
One of my nieces is very much into the resurgence of albums and expressed an interest. I gave her over 300 albums spanning the 60's thru the early 90's. she is thrilled with all the old classic rock and other music of the past.
It warms my heart to see someone 18 wanting to know about the music I love so much.
Went to an album store in her town and she picked out a Jimi Hendrix and a Creedence Clearwater Revival to add to her growing collection.

You’re right, of course.  It was a bit of a loaded question. I pretty much stopped listening to new music after the 80’s although there is some good stuff out there.  Love the 50’s music as well!

Not exactly a road tune but one of my favorite groups from the 60s.

I guess I’m in the minority for Soundgarden.

The standby is usually Classic Rock Rewind on Sirius

Gotta keep this awesome thread alive . . . For those heading towards the eclipse next month, here's a song for ya.  Just substitute the word "sun" for "heart."   Aw, the 80's! ;)

Two of the best guitarists I can think of, playing together.

Speaking of amazing guitarists, we saw Laurance Juber last night at a local community college venue. Without exception, the best guitarist I've ever seen in person.  He was the lead guitarist for Paul McCartney and Wings and has recorded with three of the four Beatles, John Lennon being the exception.  Here is his rendition of Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix, whom he saw a performance of in 1968 at Royal Albert Hall.
