It's a well-proven technology.The GE A/Cs mentioned in the article must not have been designed properly, the problem is not an issue in better-built products. I added an RV soft start to our LD’s A/C three years ago after repairing the A/C twice from damage caused by compressor starts under low voltage conditions. I wouldn't hesitate to use one but one thing everyone needs to keep in their mind is you get what you pay for. If you are going to get one, buy a good one.Jon
