new 4008 water pump noise/vibrations
vibration noise & lower water pressure than the old 5.7 Shurflo with the new 4008 installed couple weeks ago.
Strainer is clean.  I know there's an adjustment screw but it's very hard to see, much less reach.   If it's not going to hurt anything, I can live with it, but wondering what if anything can be done to minimize the shaking and maybe even improve water pressure?    (I miss the 5.7--it worked great until it didn't! ;-)
   thanks!

I took a short video on iPhone but the .mov extension isn't supported here, but was able to just do the audio as m4a --I'll try to figure out another way to post it

Hi Daryl;  I'm surprised at that. When my original Shurflo started leaking I put in a 4008 and I got better flow, a bit more pressure and quieter operation. As far as I know the screw that adjusts the switch just affects the pressure where the pump turns on. That should only prevent 'short cycling'.
There should be rubber grommets on each foot, to isolate the pump vibration from transferring into the floor. They should be pretty loose. The screws are just to keep the pump from walking away.  Could the screws be  too tight?

Daryl, make certain the hoses from the pump do not touch anything - if against a cabinet wall, the vibration will be loud. Stuff a piece of soft foam rubber if there is contact to see if the noise is reduced.

thanks Ron!
Hadn't even given that any thought.    The tech had those screws really tightly fastened down to the floor, so I loosened them up a bit, but the pump is still pretty firmly attached to the floor.  I don't know that I see any rubber grommets on the feet--should those have been on the pump out of the box?  I may play with it more sometime later when I'm in the mood to tinker ;-)

Steve, your post came just as I was about to hit save!
thanks for your suggestion-- I'll take another look under there at the hoses :-)

Daryl, I believe the pump support, including the feet, are entirely of a rubber-like material. I think the feet can be bolted securely. Older models had separate grommets for isolation.

Hi Steve, My installation and memory of it might reflect an older version. The Youtube video I watched did have a different rubber looking mounting bracket.  RonB

Daryl, did you use new hoses, hoses are available that have anti-vibration properties.

Follow Steve’s suggestion to ensure the hoses are not touching the walls or any other surface that can turn the pump’s pulsations into annoying noises.

Daryl, I have a couple things to add to the above suggestions to quiet down the 4008 waterpump.

I mounted my waterpump on a small piece of plywood and then attached the plywood to the floor of my mid-bath. I did use some rubberized shelf liner material between the plywood and the floor.

I do have a spare, brand new, in the box, Surflo 5.7 waterpump I would be willing to sell you if you are missing the Sensor 5.7 water flow and smooth performance. I think the problem with that pump was that Lazy Daze did not utilize a back flow check valve in their original installation of waterpumps. The reason I have an unused Sensor 5.7 pump is that while at an FMCA convention, I spoke with a representative from Shurflo about all the negative comments posted on the old Lazy Daze group. He offered to send me a replacement Sensor 5.7 and a check valve to replace my defective one and he sent me a brand new Revolution pump (I think it is the 4008 pump) I installed the Revolution pump and have been happy with it. I carried the other pump as a backup pump for years. I bought a new Revolution 4008 to carry as a backup pump. So the Sensor sits unused.

Hi Larry,
The two hoses leaving the pump aren’t touching anything but they are definitely short on length, same hoses from the old pump.  Weird brass looking attachment on the end of one.   I already had one of those silencer kits but doesn’t look like it would be a simple twist on & off install(?).     pics hopefully explain it better.   one is zip tied with the foam roll around it and I wonder if snapping that tie off to let the hose have more freedom to move?  (And maybe stuff some rubbery shelf liner in there too? )
Anyway, I’ll be at my next stop for a while so I’ll have time to get under there and see if I can get at least one of the “silencer” hoses in there — they’re 36”, much longer than what’s in there now!
And thanks, Steve K for the info and offer of the old 5.7, but I’m just going to keep the 4008 re and try to improve on the shaking & noise!

In our old motorhome the pump would run smooth but the pex lines several feet away would vibrate. If the system had some air in it they were at their worst. I used to run a good flow of water from all the faucets and it would eventually clear up. This used to happen in the spring after winterization.

Darrell, for reference this is what my water pump sounds like with the panel cover off and the water pump exposed.
