Fluids, Differential and Coolant
I'm up for a little maintenance. The book on mine calls for 8.3 pints of 80-90 for the differential and 30 quarts of Motorcraft Premium Gold for coolant. What's everybody using nowadays for the rear end and coolant? Thanks.

YMMV.
My 31IB starts heavy and my losing a few pounds doesn't do much. Plus I tow a CRV nearly always.
At my 30K service, the Ford dealership noted the trans fluid looked fine but the differential fluid was 'burned'.
Keeping trans service at 30K, I resolved to change the differential at 15K intervals.
I feel the expense is worth it to keep me from needing a sudden emergency visit to VonNachtFliegen Automotive somewhere.
YMMV

Consider upgrading to 75w/140 synthetic fluid. This will help the fluid survive longer without breaking down. Ford recommends this weight fluid for the later E450 and F53s.

For those who do not know, always buy the coolant in the concentrated version, the pre-diluted coolant costs much more per ounce.
Water costs very little, use distilled water when diluting the concentrate.
