kitchen faucet April 15, 2024, 11:08:01 am Need to replace faucet and ran into problem. Have read posts but do not see any one mentioning how to remove the faucet in detail. I have 03, and it has the long thin bolt with a nut at too. I can’t tell if this has to be unscrewed, or if there is a hidden hex somewhere. I can not get nut to move , not strong enough and there is rust on Bolt. Is there a something I am missing?Thank you.
Re: kitchen faucet Reply #1 – April 15, 2024, 01:07:42 pm That's the way I removed mine. I disconnected the plumbing to get some room to work and unscrewed the nut. Tough to work in that space for sure. The nut on mine was not rusted so it came off "relatively" easy. Maybe hit yours with a few doses of penetrating oil. Once you get it free, you have to dislodge the faucet from the ton of urethane that the factory applied. The LD caulking guy must have been paid by the amount of caulk used! jor 3 Likes

Re: kitchen faucet Reply #3 – May 05, 2024, 04:44:45 pm I decided over a year ago to replace the kitchen faucet, just got around to it a few weeks ago (bought the faucet in Feb 2023 when it went on sale after tracking it for a while on that camelcamelcamel website). Mine was sealed down as expected for a LD, but as JOR's images above show, its best to use something mild (I used a plastic razor) to get an edge peeled up to allow for something to grab to peel a decent section away. Also needed a couple of 1/2" to 3/8" straight connectors bought at Ace. As I try as best as possible to preserve the original look of the rig, so to make up for having a modern faucet, I sealed my new faucet down with a healthy slathering of 3M 5200. (just kidding)The nut securing the faucet on ours was easily spun off by hand.
