lazydaze paint
Hello. just bought a 2001 lazy daze.  Its green and it has a funky non glossy green set of graphis on it.  did the green ones have a light green almost stained green paint on the graphics??  I have noticed the blue ones have a nice thick regular blue glossy paint on them.  Trying to see if that is a stock kind of paint job or if the previous owner of my coach had the green painted in a different style.  Please help if you know anything about this.  Thanks so much.  JIm

Hello Jim.  While I can’t help you with your exact question, I’d like to welcome you to this Neighborhood.   LD added a color matching vinyl tape until the 2009 models.  Most tend to fade with time and there’s not a readily available replacement.  Owners have tried various remedies with only marginal improvement. As far as I know, the Factory never painted the vinyl tape.

If you have the time, perhaps you could share how long you’ve owned your LD and share any photos.

Hi Jim
Welcome to the forum.
It isn't clear what you are referring to, photos would be of great help, along with a better description.

Hi Jim, Welcome to the group!  By now a 2001 has been exposed to a lot of weather, sunlight and other factors that can cause deterioration of the factory applied paint and decals.  Pictures of the surface and location of the different issues, whether it is on an aluminum, fiberglass or ABS (tire cover, wheel skirt) or other plastic surfaces can help us determine what steps you can take to preserve the looks of your 'new to you' rig.
My '99 TK has been exposed to all kinds of other things from an industrial 'out fall' of chemicals in the parking lot of where I worked, to 'Ice blasting' driving in a sleet storm in Arizona.  So far at least I've avoided sand storms and hail storms!   Other people have experienced mishaps also. I remember one member had an industrial truck wash essentially strip the paint off one side of their rig, treating it like a 'big rig' paint job!
We had Ed Newton (co-owner of Lazy Daze at the time) advise us to stick with a less metallic color of paint, (blue) and avoid the less durable colors of green (teal) and silver that were available choices then. Also many owners with older LD's have had repaint jobs.       RonB

edit: Jim I filled in your profile as a MidBath, the most likely floorplan. Let me know which floorplan you really have. (3 models have a twin/king bed)

"Its green and it has a funky non glossy green set of graphis on it."

I also have the Teal (green) color scheme on my 2004! Typically you will find that a LD will have a lighter shade of color above floor level and a darker shade below that level.

Yes, some of the colors will fade over time depending on conditions and exposure. A LD that has been stored under cover will have faded less than those which have been exposed. Mine has never been under cover yet has not faded to any significant degree!

Do not understand your use of the word 'graphis', or your meaning.

"...you don't see the 'c' in graphics?..."

Once in a great while it becomes quite difficult to pass a simple hint!   ::)
