Running Refrigerator on Propane setting
For the first time I set my refrigerator on propane setting while the rv is "in line" for the  upcoming bluegrass (wvfest) festival.

It will be 4 days before I return to the rv.  I did level the rv prior to leaving it "in line".

I have used this setting while traveling, but only for 24 to 48 hours at a time while boon docking.

My question is will this negatively effect my house batteries?
They are in good condition.
The circuit board above the refrigerator is "on" because the refrigerator in "on" and should be the only electric drain on the batteries.

I did check it the refrigerator  temperature before I left and it had began to cool.
It is very hot here, 100 degrees daily for the next week.
I typically disconnect the house batteries while the rv is in storage or when parked for a few days.

The distance is very short were we actually park the rv for the festival and will have shore power.

I can go and turn it off if it is not recommended to run for 5 days. Propane tank was filled prior to trip.

Thanks, Kimberley

By 'in line' you mean parked in queue at the entrance, then if the batteries are in good shape, no issue. However, if temps inside will exceed 100 degrees, the fridge may fail to cool. You should provide enough air circulation to prevent that, such as a bunk window open a bit with the ceiling fan in the back pulling air through on low. If you have solar, this will keep the batteries charged. If not check periodically in case you need to run the generator a bit.

I hesitated opening one of the ceiling vents. Hindsight I should have opened the one in the bathroom, it has a vent cover.
Small cell flooding storms have been known to pop up, even when not forecasted lately and I did not want to return to a wet rv.

Although to say it is hot and dry here in south central Kansas is a understatement.
In the last 30 years since attending this festival, stocking caps were needed. I miss the fall weather.

We do typically run the generator when we arrive to get the ac on, though not for long due to the noise.

Thank you for your insight just wanted to make sure I would not drain the house batteries, Kimberley

I’m guessing you don’t have any solar panels on your LD.  While I don’t know how long your house batteries can support the LD without some charging, I might suggest buying a portable solar panel and connecting it directly to the house batteries.

Hope this helps.

Solar is on our "wish" list. It would be wonderful.

We have managed without it, having propane and generator to supplement are needs so far.

We will have shore power hook ups during the actual 10 day festival.

Wanted to be able to transfer frozen meals into the freezer sooner than later. Items are "okay" in the yeti cooler for a time.
