Cabin A/C, no air coming out of vents
I have a 2000 mid bath 26.5’ lazy daze.
The cab AC is not blowing air out of the vents. The defrost blows out air.

I haven't had to do this yet (I think a couple others have, and there are posts on here about how to do it), but here's a Lazy Daze Companion link that describes the issue and discusses a solution:

The Lazy Daze Companion: Cab AC - Air Flow Cuts Off Under Acceleration

And here's a link where this was discussed on this forum (there is also a link in there back to the article I linked above).

E450 AC Vent Vacuum Issue -- standard fix failed -- other suggestions?

Hope this helps!

Hi Pat;  I had this happen to me after a trip to Big Bear in the San Bernardino mountains. I'm sure the culprits were squirrels chewing on the plastic vacuum line, exposed near the top of the right front tire.
This link: Furnace  Reply #7 details parts you might need and  a link to a Youtube video that describes the problem.
The companion link shows the panel and process better. The hose in my case was nearly impossible to locate under the battery, so I rerouted through the engine space with the 'dog house' already removed.    RonB

If you able to follow my description, that SRQG8 above cited in The Companion, you will have cool air again.

Now I wonder what a SRQG8 is?? Square guy?

Had the same happen a few weeks ago, it was caused by a leaking vacuum reservoir. I located a new reservoir under the passenger side dash.

Ha, that's what I did yesterday. Apparently a common problem on Fords.

There is an easier way to run a new vacuum hose from the engine compartment to the interior. Route the new vacuum line to run through the passenger-side fender and enter the interior by removing the Ford radio antenna cable and using the hole for the antenna cable. reuse the cable's grommet after removing the cable. The Ford antenna cable is not used and can be cut out, LD installed a new antenna cable for the roof antenna. Works great.

Guess it was my turn to have this happen. Just completed the repair in my driveway in about an hour thanks to the info in the Companion article linked above and others sharing their wisdom and experiences here.

I considered going the route Larry mentioned above, but experimented by pulling the passenger firewall grommet out (hadn't cut anything yet at that point), and ran a wire hanger through as described in the Companion. The hanger went through really smoothly on the first attempt, and ended along the passenger fender wall to the left (passenger side) of the battery. Easy to see and easy to grab with another looped hanger. I was working on this solo and couldn't have hoped for a better outcome. The rest of the job was even easier.

I used the Dorman part # 47995 (their version of the OEM reservoir -- has no built-in check valve just like the OEM).

Check valve: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C5DZIC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used this video for a reminder of how to arrange the check valve (around 6:10 mark) and also used his idea regarding securely attaching the reservoir around the 6:30 mark. I did NOT use this guy's method to route the new hose. Despite watching this excellent video, I first installed the check valve "backwards," and was sure my efforts had failed. That's just how I like to do things, you won't have that problem.

Other stuff I used:
Vacuum Hose
Vacuum connectors/adapters
Zip-ties I had on hand.

I now have a lifetime supply of vacuum hose and vacuum adapters! I bought other things like an assortment of hose clamps, hose clamp tool, other sizes of vacuum hose just in case I needed to use it as an adapter, etc. Didn't end up needing any of it, but have it on hand for the future just in case I guess.

Thanks again to everyone who provided the info and experience to make this an easy job for me.

I also had a new reservoir and lines put in last week. I did not do it myself as our 2007 was in for all new belts and hoses. The place I used was familiar with the procedure so not too much labor. Ours would have the ac come out the defrost going uphill and then blast air out the vents going down (or as soon as you released the accelerator. All good now though.

Moderators: please correct the spelling of this topic's title, so that people will be able to find it when searching for information about the cab AC (not "Can AC)"). Thanks!
