Roof A/C stuck on? July 04, 2023, 05:44:31 pm Have the temp control on the A/C set close to 'warm' to keep the rig from overheating while sitting idle in the driveway. Went in to turn it off last night, and found it quite cold inside. The temp control is not turning off the compressor at any setting while the unit is turned on. No sound of a click as I rotate the knob.Anybody else experienced this? I am thinking the control contacts may have welded closed? No time to pull it apart soon.Steve

Reply #3 – July 05, 2023, 12:15:44 pm All of our A/Cs problems have been caused by brown outs, installing a Soft Start eliminated the high amperage startup surge that causes damage during periods of low voltage.It also reduces the compressor start bang when running the A/C at night.A Soft Start may something to consider.Larry

Jon & Loni installed a separate control for the furnace on this unit. I installed a soft start on the ac unit this spring and I can start the air on a Honda 2000 generator now. I also use a portable Progressive Industries EMS. These have saved me many times from both low and high voltages. Work camping in June Lake we saw as high as 138v and many times in the 98v range.
