SoftStartHome July 31, 2023, 10:55:24 pm I purchased a SoftStart for the RV air conditioner several months back based on recommendations from this forum. I’ve been a little busy this year so have not had time to install it but since I’m now on their mailing lists, I’ve been getting emails for their new home product. Seems like a good idea with all the power problems in California. Does anyone here have experience with the home version?HeatWaveSpecial - SoftStartHome

It will ease the strain on your home’s A/C compressor A soft start will also allow starting the compressor when running off a home battery/solar power system’s inverter. This is becoming more common as society changes over to an electric future.Larry.
Re: SoftStartHome Reply #2 – August 01, 2023, 09:34:31 am Larry is referring to me... Although the wiring seems pretty straightforward, I don't want to risk any issues while our A/C needs to be on about 8 hrs a day - it works fine as is, but the anticipated adding of batteries to our solar setup will require it to handle rare outages.Steve
