Entry Steps October 31, 2022, 07:21:22 pm I'm getting rid of every thread of carpet in this thing and adding a little color while I'm at it. Put Mexican tile in the entry. jor 8 Likes

Re: Entry Steps Reply #3 – November 01, 2022, 01:56:55 pm QuoteDid you use peel-and-stick vinyl? No. The entry is ceramic Mexican 4" tile. We did, however use the fake stuff on the kitchen and bathroom walls. I'm laying in more Mexican tile on the side of the shower base. jor 10 Likes
Re: Entry Steps Reply #4 – November 02, 2022, 06:40:21 pm I had to remove the entry door magnetic switch to do my tile job so I replaced it. These are great little switches. I've used them for lighting in all the interior compartments. You can wire them for either normally open or closed. The door one is closed. Less than 20 bucks for five of them. magnetic switchjor 3 Likes As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.
Re: Entry Steps Reply #5 – June 12, 2023, 11:23:31 am Followup on TileSomeone was curious if the tile in the entry and bathroom might crack. I've got 8,000 miles and lots of bumps behind me now and it looks just fine. The worst is in and out of my place which is a 1.5 mile 5 mph almost unmaintained road. So no sweat with ceramic tile in the Lazy Daze.jor 4 Likes
Re: Entry Steps Reply #7 – June 12, 2023, 01:35:03 pm How about weight compared to other materials that could be used?Seems ceramic tile would be heavy.
Re: Entry Steps Reply #8 – June 12, 2023, 06:21:23 pm QuoteSeems ceramic tile would be heavy. Not much weight. Also, LD did a good job on weight. We weigh 12.9 all loaded up and water full so we have a nice cushion to get to that 14.5. jor 1 Likes
Re: Entry Steps Reply #9 – June 13, 2023, 01:31:58 pm We also used ceramic tile in our 98~MB bathroom and kitchen remodel. Now over three years and 15 thousand miles ago it has held up well. We bought about 20lbs of ceramic tile which we used a little more then half. We used a tube of high strength glue that tile shops use to make their tile displays and was recommended. The grout, schluter strips, and glue came to about 3 lbs so we figure our total weight for this tile project was about 15lbs. When you consider the weight of the microwave we removed, we came out lighter. Re: Entry Steps Reply #10 – June 13, 2023, 01:41:25 pm We replaced our carpet floor with vinyl planks which also ran into the into the bathroom but did not replace the lightly carpeted lower shower skirt wall. Jor, That's a Great idea putting tile on that lower shower skirt wall. We will use the extra white tile we have to finish that wall. I guess we will have to open up another tube of that high strength glue? We did use the vinyl planks to do the area in the step for the door. Karen~Liam 98 ~ MB NinA
