Alternator Upgrade
So I had to fix some water damage that ran from under the battery compartment to the heater on my TK.  I knew about this issue when I bought it and came from a leaking water pump with the coach sitting a little to the passanger side.  My TK never came with a generator and I have carried 450Ah of lead acid around with 315W's of solar.  Now in the PNW the solar is not enough in the winter and travling in the summer we encountered some warm days where it would be nice to run the air conditioner while driving.  I already upgraded to a soft start so my little honda can run the AC but don't really want to fabricate a mount to run the generator while driving.  With a post COVID hybrid working schedule I will need more battery to work a few days remotly.  I plan to switch to litium in the future but I started upgrading the rest of the system.  The Nations alternator fits snuggly in the engine compartment and I hope to never pull the belt or fan shroud while on the road as it is very tight.  I opened up a hole in the floor so the Victron could sit level behind the battery and generator door.  The Lynx distributor in also down in the old generator/storage compartment.  The Touch 70 display is nicely displaying refrigerator tempatures via bluetooth.  Still finishing the wiring but should be ready to test for spring break.

Nice upgrade, 180 amps at idle should take care of your needs. I had not previously seen this kit.

In our old 1983 LD I installed a 200-amp (140 amps at idle) alternator liberated from a totaled police car . It replaced the inadequate stock 63 amp alternator and allowed running the refrigerator on 12 volts along with the dash A/C and headlights. Having the belt drive included makes the project so much easier.

Well I finally got it started today to see how much of the settings will need to be changed.  I am currently using Lead Acid batteries so the Inverter doesn't like running the Microwave and AC due to the load droop BUT with the engine at idle the alternator ramps up to 95amps seamlessly when the air conditioner is started.  Now with all this power I need to determine how large of a battery bank I really need by using and depleting it.  The Fridge replacement currently uses 20Ahr/day in <65 degree temps   ;D

and I need to get all my computers and monitors set up to see how much a mobile office will actually use.
Right now I only have 250Ahr and can only charge at a maximum of 50amps but idling the engine will run extra loads without a generator.  This really beats carrying the small Honda and is quieter too.
