While the article has some helpful suggestions, it starts with a major misstatement: "All prescription drugs are controlled substances." This is incorrect. Controlled substances under US law are drugs that may cause addiction or be misused. Examples include stimulants, opioids, hallucinogens, anabolic steroids, and depressants. But drugs such as prescription anti-glaucoma eye drops (for example) are not controlled substances. To quote one of the commenters responding to this article:

Having been a licensed pharmacist for many years, I need to correct one of your statements. Not all prescription drugs are controlled substances. All prescription drugs are legend drugs. Controlled Substances are drugs which are listed and regulated by the Controlled Substance Act.

For what it's worth, I've found Amazon Pharmacy to be a convenient and economical way to obtain prescription drugs (in my case, anti-glaucoma eye drops), as long as the need is not immediate. The ordering process is straightforward--they contact my physician when necessary--and delivery to a local UPS Store usually takes only two or three days. This can be a good solution for drug taken long-term.

For prescriptions that I need immediately, I use the drive-up facilities at a local drugstore, because that lets me avoid exposure to Covid-19, flu, RSV, and other airborne diseases. (For the same reason, I use curbside pickup at Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot and other chains.)

Nice discussion here, important to know for any traveler but quite appropriate for the LD bunch!

But now, a kink... what about Canada? I recall one time while crossing into Canada when a very zealous inspection team made the wife and I stand outside our LD while they performed their duties. My wife was a diabetic and the inspectors went ballistic when they came upon our stash of syringes. We had to show them the insulin supply in the fridge before they came down off their high roost!   :o

I might add for the folk that get drugs in other countries then the USA..... The drug must be prescribed by a USA based/licenced Doctor to  bring them back legally  that is.
