I agree with those who recommended a trailer. Yes, you could tow a small trailer with a Lazy Daze, but only two out of your five occupants would have any crash protection. That doesn't seem like a good idea.

If it were me, I think I'd go with a crew cab pickup, which would easily and safely accommodate your three adults and two teenagers, pulling a medium-sized travel trailer. Sleeping arrangements could be a mix of truck bed and trailer.

The relatively large mass of the RV generally reduces crash severity. The lack of design attention to coach seating crash protection generally increases crash severity. The cautious and deliberate driving attitude of MH drivers reduces probability of a crash, and may reduce severity by slower speeds driven.

The question is, what are the relative magnitudes of these various effects? Per mile driven, are LD coach passengers at higher risk than sedan passengers?
