Starlink Thru Hull Connector

We were in a campground in Puerto Peñasco last month.  About 100 yards from the surf break, backed in so we could view the beach.  As an old time sailor, I should have known better – never turn your back to the water.  About 2AM one evening a storm came up, 50mph winds whipping sheets of salt water on to the rig – and Starlink connection.  Despite providing the installer with waterproof connections he connected the Starlink through the hull with non-waterproof connectors.  The connection was shorted out.  Despite cleaning out as best I could, the connection through the hull was ruined. Fortunately, I had a spare cable and was able to feed that through the window.  A few YouTube videos showed me how to “terminate” an Ethernet connection.  I was able to remove the defective connection and install the waterproof connection and an extra deep cover.  It all works great.

But I will not be “turning my back” to the ocean again!!!
