Has anyone dissected that TempAssure unit to see what is inside?
Recently someone here posted a picture of a remnant in their near battery box of a gray heat shrink coated object with one wire cut (or broken off). Is that a impromptu repair of a Parallax problem?      RonB

The TempAssure module contains a busy little board.  The circuit board contains mostly surface mount capacitors, resistors, and diodes.  There are three integrated circuits:
34072 - Operational Amplifier
14536B - Programmable Timer
CD4093B - Quad 2-Input NAND Schmitt Trigger

There will be no reverse engineering this puppy!

For anybody that is interested, I have a new never installed TempAssure Module for your taking (Just need an address to send it to).  I installed a Progressive Dynamics PD4655 Converter and so I don't need the module.  It does not come with the temperature sensor for I used it after I pulled the battery out with the original sensor still connected to it  - UGH!!

Hi RimRider, sounds like a challenge.  Bet I could reverse engineer it and fix the design. Sounds like a distance induced problem with unshielded wiring and not enough protection at the inputs and outputs.  Schmidt trigger is just to clean up an indecisive input but can still 'ring' with electrical noise on the input signal. The OpAmp should be OK, and the programmable timer may just be to slow down it's response.  The label says 4400 and 5400, and not the 8300.  Date on the board is 2012, Rev D. sounds like it needs a design more for the 8300, or at least a Rev E.  Thanks for the pictures.   RonB

Hi Kitty.  If you are using the solar controller to read the voltage level, That is the volts on the batteries. A little high, I'd expect a little lower at 13.3 volts.  The batteries are essentially disconnected when the converter is supplying power to the house circuitry. So that voltage may be different. Possibly lower and more at the 132v. setpoint. RonB

The TempAssure module is gone.
