Winegard Sensar Antenna questions, issues, and maintenance
I have some silly questions as I try to learn more about our Antenna.
Attaching a picture of our antenna.

First my silly questions:
Is this the Sensar IV Antenna?
Does this have the Wingman?
Is the Wingman the part sticking out and it is included on the Sensar IV Antenna?

My questions about maintenance:
The manual says to:
Lubricate elevating gear 3-4 times yearly.
Lubricate the bearing surface between the rotating gear housing and the base plate 2 times yearly.
Lubricate the Rubber quad ring at least twice yearly.

My questions:
We lubricate all these with silicone lubricant spray.
The first 2 are pretty easy and I just spray the silicone lubricant spray on them, and around the base.  Is that what everyone else does? Do you lubricate them as often as the manual says?

This is my big question area:
The last one - lubricate the rubber quad ring - requires removing the antenna and pulling the worm gear, shaft assembly with the quad ring out.  How often do you do that?  Did you see the 3 washers and rubber ring? Or are they down in the hole and do not come out when you pull out the shaft? The picture in the manual and online is a bit confusing.  It shows the wave washer, Flat washer and rubber ring as all just little thin washers, but the worm gear I bought looks like the Rubber quad ring is a bigger piece. From watching the videos online I am wondering if they changed how this is made now with a bigger quad ring.  On one video the guy pulled out 3 little thin washers.  Not like the one he put back in with the rubber quad ring being much longer.  So I am confused.  I should probably go pull it apart again, but I did it a few months ago and when I put it back together it sometimes catches a little when starting to crank it up.  I did not replace the worm gear but only lubricated it.  I did buy a new one to have it on hand just in case.

Because of it needing to be lubricated twice a year and if the quad ring is not in right or cracks then leaks could occur, I have contemplated changing to an antenna that does not need to be raised and lowered or turned.   Any thoughts on that?

Any insight on the Worm Gear / shaft assembly / quad ring would be appreciated.

Thank you!!

ok, I understand the 3 rings now. This is a picture from the internet video of the 3 rings.  Then a picture of my spare with the rings pulled apart a bit.  I thought the quad ring went down the shaft a bit and was a bigger piece than just a ring.

I still have all my questions about lubricating and replacing it and it binding a bit, and going to a different antenna.

Thank you!!
