The Albatross Has Departed
It’s been quite a run!  We picked up our rig from the factory on March 9, 2007 and started our adventure. Our first night in her was at an LD SoCal Caravan Club outing at Lake Perris, CA. We got very lucky because the subgroup that was acting as hosts at this outing for any first-timers was the Past Tents, and the very first LDer we met was none other than this Forum’s Larry Wade,, who proceeded to help us level and get hooked up. The PTs immediately welcomed us into the fold and we have treasured camping with them for the last 15 years. They have been, are, and will remain our closest circle of friends. We never wanted to tow, but long had admired Vespa scooters, so we bought a 250, had a custom rack installed, and took off to explore this vast country. Albatross and the scoot have been coast to coast twice and all over the West third of the nation. We’ve kayaked (inflatable!) with hundreds of gators in the Okefenokee Swamp, terrorized ourselves descending the Moki Dugway, scooted up Hurricane Ridge on the Olympic Peninsula, visited scads of air museums and presidential libraries, driven the blue highways through small town America, cruised the Natchez Trace and Blue Ridge parkways, spelunked caves everywhere (Carlsbad the absolute best), and just plain loved our traveling cabin every day we were in it. But there’s a time for everything and we have passed her along to the next lucky couple to make new memories. We have long valued this remarkable forum and, by your leave, will remain alumni and visit daily. Safe travels to all. — Jon & Loni

Our family had a little call and response that we did when the kids were little.

“What’s the best thing about our LazyDaze?”

“The places it takes us!”

Sounds like you made it to some wonderful places.

As much love and care we put into these LD and the joy they bring, it must be difficult to lose this family member.

Hi Jon and Loni; The Albatross has a new family, and we can hope that the new owners are already among us, or will join us here.  Thank you for remaining here as Alumni members.  We look forward to both of your combined experiences continuing to enhance the membership for us all.  RonB

Jon and Loni, we only met you briefly a couple years ago at the Morro Bay GTG but glad we got the chance to. Wishing you fair weather and following seas in your new adventures!

Hi Jon and Loni!  What a nice summary of your LD experiences!  We are so glad that you hooked up with the Past Tents Caravan Group.  We always enjoyed seeing you at LD gatherings.  We hope the next chapter of you life is as rewarding.

The dogs think Orwan is a magic box.   Most times you open the door, the scenery changes !  :)
