Tuner September 05, 2022, 02:32:34 pm Curiosity prompts this question. Has anyone run a tuner (flash) on their 3-valve 6.8? Thanks.jor
Re: Tuner Reply #1 – September 05, 2022, 07:26:32 pm No LD had the 3-valve v10, that engine could not fit in the engine bay of any Econoline van (E350/E450).Charles

Thanks. The 5 Star Tuner is popular among some Class C owners with the 2-valve V10 on some other RV forums. They've not been very popular among LD owners in this Neighborhood.Custom Dynomometer Chassis Tuning Products and Services - 5 Star Tuning
Re: Tuner Reply #3 – September 05, 2022, 08:35:02 pm I understand the same as Charles- that no E-series V-10 had more than 2 valves per cylinder.I installed a "tune" on a 3-valve V-10 that was in my F-53-based Class A coach. I removed the "tune" when it appeared to interfere with correct operation of the cruise control. Most reports I've read are from satisfied customers, without that symptom.Mark H.
Re: Tuner Reply #4 – September 06, 2022, 12:57:55 am I installed a Banks exhaust system and a 5 star tune. Made a huge difference in drivability of my LD. It did affect the mpg, dropping from 9.5 to 9.0, but it is well worth the additional safety that power gives you.
Re: Tuner Reply #5 – September 06, 2022, 09:31:19 am Not a three valve? This is the price I pay for doing no research prior to posing a question! Sounds like there are good options though with the Banks and a tuner. Actually, I find the 6.8 and five speed to be a pretty good match for the LD, however, we haven't towed yet. We're taking off in a week or so and this time we'll be hanging our Forester on the back so I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes in the mountains dragging 3500 pounds. Something to mull over anyhow. Thanks to all.jor
