Bathroom Carpet
Our MB had carpet glued to the outside of the shower pan.  I must say that’s not the best idea for a BR.  We’ve … actually Margee has wanted us to remove that carpet for years.   That project hasn’t been on the top of my list for a very good reason, which I can’t remember right now.

So Margee decided that we’re finally going to remove that piece of blue 13 year old carpet.  The Factory used an obscene amount of glue and no staples.  We had to use a chisel to remove it.  Behind the carpet are sections of various pieces of wood.   Fortunately there wasn’t any mold or rot, which could easily happen in a space with a shower, sink, and toilet.  IMO, the Factory should have used another material in that area.  Not carpet.

We replaced the carpet with the same luxury vinyl planking that’s on the floor.   (The shadows make the side pieces of LVP change colors).  We glued and stapled the pieces into place.  And then caulked all the seams.  That area is now in better condition to handle water accidents.

I’d highly recommend replacing the MB bathroom carpet with something better.

Finally, there isn’t a single piece of carpet in the house except for the cab, which will probably remain.

Nice job, Ed, definitely something to consider!  I’m wondering if using a hair dryer to heat up the glue on the carpet would help with removal?

Good Job Ed!  Our Sirena (cat) loves that carpet for claw rejuvenation and the carpet still looks as good as New today!  I wonder if there is space to cover right over the carpet with our floor vinyl flooring it is thin enough but then how would attach it?  Sirena wants the carpet to stay like the one on the lower back wall of our lounge.
