30' IB Where to install weBoost Drive X RV (471410) Cell Phone Signal Booster.
Would appreciate any info/recommendations re best place to install a weBoost Drive X RV (471410) Cell Phone Signal Booster in our 2005 30ft IB & any tips re installation. Did you need any extra tools or supplies than what it comes with?

Thanks!

The weBoost Drive X RV (471410) Cell Phone Signal Booster is a 4G device, IMO, I would consider it obsolete due to it not being able to use 5G, which will be widespread in the next year or two.  I would consider sending it back and getting a booster that can use 4G and 5G.

The two antennas (roof and inside) need to be spaced apart as much as possible. The rear lounge or the dinette are the two choices for the inside antenna. As discussed earlier, your phone needs to be next to or on top of the inside antenna.
How do you plan on getting the antenna wire from the roof to your preferred location? The only existing pathway is through the roof, comic ng down the refrigerator vent. Unfortunately, it isn't near either preferred location.
The booster also needs 12-volt power supplied.
The booster can be installed in an overhead cabinet and the antenna wire can be run through the roof using a clam fitting

I use marine thru-fittings to bring wires and cables through the roof.  Here is the antenna I built for Andy many years ago.

Here are some general suggestions--forgive me if you've already thought of these.

You have three pieces to deal with: the outside antenna, the amplifier box, and the inside antenna. The outside antenna works best if it's on the roof, obviously--the higher, the better. To get that antenna's cable into the rig, you may be able to feed it in through the refrigerator's roof vent; otherwise, you can use a CableClam to go through the roof and into the rig at any location that suits you (see below).

The amplifier needs to be 1) near where the outside antenna enters the rig, 2) near a 12 V power source, and 3) reasonably near where you intend to be using the boosted signal from its inside antenna (dinette table, most likely). Since the inside antenna needs to be within inches (or less) of your phone or hotspot/Jetpack, you'll want the amplifier box fairly close to it. Yes, it has a longish cable, but you don't want that draped across your living space where you'll trip over it. And since Lazy Dazes don't come with a surplus of 12V outlets, you may want to add a dedicated outlet for the booster amplifier. That can help make placement easier.

So these three locations are related: where the outside antenna cable enters the rig, where the amplifier box is mounted, and where you're going to be using the boosted signal. If you bring the antenna cable in via the fridge vent, that constrains your other two locations. If you use a CableClam, you can bring it in anywhere, which gives you a lot more flexibility.

Hope this helps.

little digression but may help ...

I was looking at cell booster and I did ask some advice about booster antenna last week. Before pressing buy button, I did some more research and found lot of posts about Starlink turning on roaming after Ukraine war. For me decision was easy for the price of cell booster I was getting Starlink kit but issue is unknown wait.

There is a well documented loophole to get Starlink with in a week. I am getting mine next Tuesday .... As for Starlink service, I am sold based on what I read but do not have experience with it but it is going with me for six month trip. Not turning off cell service yet Starlink will be a backup for now till I get more confidence and be assured that roaming will not be turned off.

Be well ...
