Re: water exits fill spout when hooked up to city water Reply #1 – April 12, 2022, 08:13:49 pm Hi Bob; Water was back flowing through the pump's check valve, filling up the tank and coming out of the vent (small hole with screen). Could have been something in the check valve that got through the strainer, a hard water deposit on the valve rubber flapper, or too much pressure from the water hose inlet. I think LD gives everybody a 40 psi regulator pressure reducer. I never use water directly from a hose, I'm sure my regulator is in a storage compartment (somewhere). I don't need it to fill the tank. RonB
Re: water exits fill spout when hooked up to city water Reply #2 – April 12, 2022, 08:26:59 pm When not connected to shore-water, the pump's check valve would allow leak-back if malfunctioning, causing the pump to keep running. My guess is you had the pump switched off, so did not notice this, so see what happens with the pump on. If it does not keep running, then there may be a pressure-relief valve in the pump to prevent over-pressure, and your shore-water pressure was too high.Steve
Re: water exits fill spout when hooked up to city water Reply #3 – April 13, 2022, 04:04:34 pm Hi LD family, 👋Same thing happened to me on my latest camping outing. Given that my LD is 18 years old and have had no troubles up to now I think the check valve has gone bad. Does anyone (Larry) know where this check valve is located and how to repair/replace?Thanks for all LD knowledge 🚐😎Lazy Bones 2 - Cynthia 1 Likes
Re: water exits fill spout when hooked up to city water Reply #4 – April 13, 2022, 04:49:13 pm Any valves are part of the water pump head. There is also a check valve at the shore-water hookup, but that is to prevent water from flowing out that inlet when the water pump is on.Steve
