Replacing Sharp Microwave - Please Advise...
My Sharp Carousel microwave that was there when I bought my Lazy Daze has gotten to the point where the touchpad doesn't respond.  I Googled the easy fixes, but none of them work so I'm just going to replace the unit.  (The paperwork said it was purchased in 2009.)

It looks somewhat straightforward as there's a frame with four screws to remove and then I hope I can just pop out the old microwave and replace it with the new one.  I've looked at "lots" of replacements, but the closest I can come is to replace it with another Sharp unit.

The height and length are probably the most crucial, with the depth being the same or smaller than the original.

The old microwave dimensions (in inches) are:
Height:  12.25
Width:  20.3
Depth:  17.375

The repacement dimensions will be:

Height:  12.0
Width:  20.3
Depth:  14.8 (This is slightly smaller, but shouldn't make a difference.)

I just wanted to check with people before I made a purchase if this should work without any major adjustments.

I think I’d call the Factory and find out which unit they’re now installing.  (Brand & Model).  Or perhaps someone on this Forum with a newer LD could post that same information for their microwave?  I’m betting it could fit. Please post your final solution.  And thank you.

Cheryl-

Please tell us the model of the microwave. At least one of the Sharps has an exact-fit modern replacement model, using the same back plate and mounting screws.

The model I have now (that stopped working) was Sharp Model #R306K.

The closest model I have found that is the same size is Sharp Model #SMC1131CB.

The current microwave that LD is installing is the HighPointe EM925AWW.  HighPointe looks to be in Bristol, Indiana.

Cheryl-

I looked around, and concluded that I don't have any suggestions to offer that are better than what you've already found or received from other folks.
