Rear driver's side blinker funkiness
So when we bought our rig years ago, the rear drivers side blinker and break where not working 100% of the time. It fixed itself.

I just noticed it started up again. The other night everything was fine. Now left blinker does the fast blink. Front is fine, but nothing in the rear. I've swapped in known good bulbs. Also get nothing on the rear 4pin connector.

Hi Sean; So the brake lights were working, but not now. They don't fix themselves, the symptoms may go away, only to return at a later more inconvenient time! The fast blink means (with Ford standard flasher) that a load is missing. So the rear brake light has a loose connection. Lucky for you the Mid Bath has an access panel in the back, inside the rear compartment. Remove the access screws, remove the back panel, gently pull out the pad of fiberglass insulation, and all of the wiring can be inspected, modified or in this case fixed.  Lazy Daze does a good job, but aftermarket people typically 'mangle' the connections. If you have another tow vehicle socket, besides the one in the (no) tire cover, then someone has been inside there.  I have experience specifically on a 2001 MB and pictures of modifications that I made. Thanks I'll have to check for that access panel. I assume you mean in the outside drivers side storage compartment?

The rig has the standard 4pin tow plug in the nospare. I added a 7pin on the bumper, but all I did was made an extension that goes from the wiring on the 7pin to a 4pin plug I bought, so mothership wiring has been tapped into as far as I know. I ran a 10 gauge wire directly from the engine compartment to the rear and connected it to the 7pin. I did a test of everything before connecting the 12v and it all tested good. It has rained quite a bit between that test and when I ran the 12v. So I either bumped something when I pulled and zip tied that 12v line, or something got went. I'll try to crawl around and see if I see anything.

Do you know if there are any wire routing diagrams out there anywhere? When I called the mothership when I bought the rig, the lady said they only had the lazydaze manual. I have that, but no actual Ford manuals. I've been meaning to stop by a dealer to see about ordering a factory service manual and wiring diagram based on the Vin.

Hi Sean; The Ford manual is worthless for wiring in the motorhome. All you get is the cutaway chassis,  What a motorhome builder does with the chassis doesn't matter to Ford.
Yes; inside the rear storage compartment on the inside an inch from the license plate. RonB

Stranger and stranger...

Tail lights work fine. Still no left blinker or brake on the left side.

If I back feed power into the four pin, all lights work fine.

Is there a fuse for only the left side tail/break lights?

I downloaded a supposedly 2001 e450 fuse diagram and didn't see anything jump out at me.

Does anyone know where the mother ship connected the factory writing into their extended run?

That's my next task. Trace the wires back from the access panel till they get somewhere.

Your test shows the light socket is good, and the connection is bad from the left brake/turn filament to the front of the chassis. Since the four-pin has the same issue, and the connection from the 4-pin to the brake light is good, there is another wire from either the 4-pin or the socket that comes from the front. find and diagnose that connection.

Ended up finding that there are two fuses in the engine compartment. One for the left side, and one for the right.
