Previous LDOs Suggestion
We know that this Neighborhood has some RVers who have previously owned a LD and continue to contribute to this Forum.   And some of those folks have SOB which I’m sure are beautiful and full of all manner of interesting upgrades and modifications.

While I understand most of the posting guidelines for the LDO Forum, I would sure like for those Ex-LDOs to be allowed and even encouraged to share with us pictures and information about their Rigs.  I’d find their upgrades and modifications helpful and certainly interesting.  For example, I’d like to know more about Andy Baird’s Airstream along with pictures.

At any rate, there you go.

There are several former owners of LDs who post on LDO on various topics. While I don't necessarily have an interest in (most) non-LD rigs, some of the improvements and modifications that owners have done can be useful if they're "appropriate" to LDs, i.e., relevant to the chassis, engine, and components to a range of LD models and model years. And, travel/trip reports, photos, upgrading ideas, "fixes", product sources, and links to information that relates to travel and camping are welcome. But, candidly, if I want to know about a truck camper or a TT or a class B, my "go to" sources are those which relate directly to that rig or rig type.

Obviously, others may feel differently; YMMV!  ;)

I'm inclined to agree with Joan. I post here when I have something to say that's relevant to Lazy Dazes. I generally don't stray much beyond that, because Lazy Dazes are what people come here to read about and discuss. There are plenty of places to read about other brands (e.g., AirForums for Airstream owners), and I think it would unnecessarily dilute the value of this forum if we did too much of that here.

To respond to Ed & Margee's comment about my Airstream(s), I'm sorry to disappoint your curiosity. A few years ago I stopped writing and posting photos about my current rigs in my "Travels" website, and nowadays I'm just too lazy in my old age to do that kind of thing. :-)

I'm one of those "LD Alumni" that hang out here.  I like the nature of this group, know a few of the people, and feel that I can respond to questions about LDs, RVs in general, fulltiming and destinations.  But I agree that the focus should be on LDs and their owner's interests.

LDs will not be made in the same high standards for ever. I look forward to hear former LD owners posting any type of knowledge.

I consider the LDOF to be valuable in relation to my LD. Some topics can be in common with other brands, and may be of interest for that reason. Topics specific to other brands are better addressed on other forums.

Ed-

I'm with you, man... I'm always hoovering up suggestions for improvements, to the detriment of my coach (some things are best left unmodified), my bank account and my sanity. Some folks just like to tinker, though.

On the other hand, there are other, more general RV fora with plenty of threads on improvements.

One of the things I like about both the LDO forum and the LD community is that they both are focused, without being strongly parochial. In other words, participation/advice focuses on LD-specific issues, but when information from outside is helpful, it's encouraged. In my opinion, this is a wonderful balance, rare to find and a testimony to the founders and "keepers-on" of the LD owners world.

That said, if someone wants to read about "SOB" (Some Other Brand) modifications, or learn about systems common between LDs and other RVs, then he should spend some time on the other fora- not to the detriment of LDO, of course.

Or, if you want a list of modifications as long as your arm, send me a private message and I'll forward you mine. Reading it might be dissuasive.   ;-)
