Spare Water Pump
Based on input from this forum, I purchased a spare water pump from Amazon, just in case.  I noticed when I took the caps off the inlet and outlet connections that there was water inside. I am assuming this is from a factory test?  Manufacture date on the label is 05/21/21.  Either that or I got a used one!  Should I drain any water out before storing? Am I worrying too much again? 🤔

Hi Greg;  I just put in a new pump (my first), and yes the water is from testing. It also keeps the valves, diaphragm, and other parts 'lubed' and ready to run. Water IS its normal operating environment. Most people don't buy them to store in a box for years, and although it is inconvenient to have one malfunction while on the road, I don't have the weight capacity or place to put it in an E350 TK.  Make sure you have the tools with you to replace it, or the new pump won't be as useful as it should be. (Thanks Kent!) If this one lasts another 21 years it will be someone else's problem.  RonB
