What did all these people do before? I suppose other means of travel and dining.

My understanding is many of the new RV’ers are Millenials.

Work?

We met dozens of newly retired empty nesters in new RVs this spring.  The pandemic made them realize that it's time to get on with their life plans and their 401k had swelled beyond what they expected.  Ergo - it's time to buy a RV and see the USA.

It became a running joke for us.  Every other RV had a temporary license tag and was fresh from the dealer.

I was amazed to find 4 days at Vogel State Park in North Ga. They are always booked a yr in advance. It must have been a very recent cancelation....and in June!!!!
With so little luck finding a replacement LD.....it made my day!

Everyone used to be working in an office. Pandemic hit, had to work from the same place you loved, and never saw anything new..... so we all bought boats and RVs and worked from a new place every day!!!!!

Given the number of baby boomers reaching retirement age, like myself, I expected it to be rather crowded when I hit the road in 2023.

The pandemic brought a whole new wave of folks on the road that I did not anticipate.  Sure, a majority of newbies will give it up in a year or two, but there will still be a significant extra who actually enjoy it, adding to the mix.

Still looking forward to 2023, just might not be as carefree as I expected.

RV’ers are or turn into great people.  That means there will be even more great people out and about in the USA!  That is a good thing!

All the license tab fees and sales tax must be a windfall for the states.  Wouldn’t it be great if each earmarked some of that to improving state owned campgrounds/ outdoor areas?
