Camco Quickie Flush May 10, 2021, 12:34:02 am I liked this unit so well I put 2 on my new LD (1 on the black tank and 1 on the grey tank).I had one on the '95 black tank and really liked it.Both tanks were drilled 2 inches from the top of the tank with a 1 1/8" hole as per the instructions. I added a brass elbow at the nozzle to relieve the downward pressure on the hose (black tank). I placed the spray nozzle on the inward side of the tank near the middle and shaded towards the sensors. The Mid Bath grey tank is shaped long and flat. I decided to drill a larger nozzle tip hole and mount the spray nozzle on the driver's side end of the tank aiming at the other end. The increased middle spray helps get to the other side. I tested both systems in the yard for leaks and efficiency. Our maiden voyage was this last week to the San Simeon/Cambria area. I can report that the installs are highly effective and leak free. 1 Likes

Re: Camco Quickie Flush Reply #3 – May 10, 2021, 12:33:26 pm Black tankGrey tankI will add that I removed the anti backflow spring and valve for the Grey nozzle to give it a less restricted flow (it wasn't easy) and mounted the hose higher than the tank. 2 Likes
Re: Camco Quickie Flush Reply #4 – May 10, 2021, 12:56:48 pm Our Camco flushers are doing fine after 18 years.Instead of two hose connections, one for each tank, I installed a 2-way valve and a quick disconnect, allowing both tanks to be filled from the same connection. This was done a couple years after the original installtion when the plastict hose inlets started to rot in the sun. Now, nothing but metal is exposed .[/url]Holding tank flusher | FlickrLarry 3 Likes

Re: Camco Quickie Flush Reply #6 – May 11, 2021, 08:59:25 am Another consideration for those hoses to the holding tanks would be to add insulation to prevent freezing of water trapped in the hose between flushes. (see photos of my hose foam rubber insulation install) It wouldn't take much to freeze the water in that small diameter hose. 1 Likes

Is that the shower P-trap I spy in the upper part of the second photo? If so, that might be a candidate for insulation if traveling in cold areas.🤔
Re: Camco Quickie Flush Reply #9 – May 11, 2021, 10:10:47 am Yes that is the shower P trap and that is a good suggestion to insulate it. Thanks!
Re: Camco Quickie Flush Reply #10 – May 11, 2021, 11:22:40 am Years ago, after a cold winter trip, our LD's dump valves and drain pipe were wrapped with a 10' electric pipe heating wire and, then insulated with a closed-cell foam tape. When the pipe freeze, an hour or so of 120-volt power thaws the pipes and allows draining. While we have had the drain pipe and valve freeze much time, we have never had a whole tank freeze.Larry
