Repairing cracks in a plastic cover
When I removed the Pla-cool cover to repaint it, I found the plastic very brittle and cracking. Since they no longer make these covers and this evaporative cooler still works, I decided to try to save it. I purchased a tube of JB weld plastic epoxy.  I decided I might as well do all four corners, so I cleaned and sanded the under side of the corners of the cover, reinforced a few with painters tape on the outer side, then applied the epoxy. This epoxy says it dries in 25 minutes and can be sanded, drilled, painted and sawed. I also used Krylon spray paint to paint the cover to get rid of the dingy yellow color.
I’ll update this once I reinstall it. This epoxy was needed to repair the screw holes to take the mounting screws again.

JB Weld is good stuff. I use it for small surface repairs. You may wish to get acquainted with WEST System epoxy

I no longer do large projects that make efficient use of the gallon size. I carry the G/Flex on all trips.
Whatever it is used to repair will be stronger than the original.

Combined with fiberglass mat, you can fix anything.

Don,
Thanks for the tip on the West G/flex epoxy.  I bought the tube size and used it for two coats on the underside of my Pla-cool roof cover. It's in much better shape now. 😃
