Lost our companion Link December 26, 2020, 03:22:40 pm I have posted pictures of our dog Link from time to time. He really enjoyed the Lazy Daze and a big as he was managed to never be in the way. When on the road if the passenger seat was empty he would sit in it with front paws on the floor and head down and resting on the dashboard just watching country roll by. Unless the window was down enough to get his head out the window. Link had a cancer tumor burst that caused a blood infection. He was dead a few hours later Christmas morning. Some of the North East Lazy Daze group have met Link as he attended two of our camping trips. The past four or five years he lived with my daughter helping Danielle obtain a PHD. In the free time he took Danielle hiking in the Shenandoah’s to recharge and enjoy the wilds. 7 Likes

Re: Lost our companion Link Reply #7 – December 26, 2020, 06:45:10 pm The heartache lessens over time, but never entirely goes away. Each pet (especially poodles!) reserves a place in your heart the minute you touch them for the first time, and they look up into your eyes and you know you are bonded for life! Yes, that Smudge (those at the Balloon Fiesta and Dead Horse Ranch will know). You become known for your pups (or kitties) almost as well as yourselves.Hugs to you. 2 Likes

Re: Lost our companion Link Reply #10 – December 26, 2020, 07:42:40 pm "You become known for your pups (or kitties) almost as well as yourselves."Boy, isn't that the truth!! When I had two Saint Bernards and two poodles, I would walk one of each at a time by attaching a poodle's leash to the Saint Bernard's collar so it was poodle in the lead. Everyone would stop to talk about the dogs, but when out alone, I was invisible.Virtual hugs,Judie 1 Likes
Re: Lost our companion Link Reply #12 – December 26, 2020, 09:00:04 pm So so sorry for your loss especially this time of year. 😢 We had to put down our 1 1/2 year old dog on Christmas Eve 2 years ago due to uncontrollable seizures. The pain will lessen with time but for me it changed Christmas. 3 Likes

Re: Lost our companion Link Reply #19 – December 27, 2020, 11:51:36 am John, a friend gave us this book when our Pointer, Brook died a few months ago. As silly as it may seem, the book really helped us crawl out of the sad place we were in.
