12 VDC refrigerator use February 07, 2021, 03:45:53 pm My Dometic RM-2607 is 3-way power source optional. Propane, AC, or DC.I've never tried this but if I run the refrigerator on 12 volts as I head down the road will my alternator keep up with the discharge rate?
Re: 12 VDC refrigerator use Reply #1 – February 07, 2021, 07:42:43 pm The alternator should be able to power the refrigerator when on the road but remember to turn it back to propane or A/C as soon as you stop driving. The refrigerator pulls 20-25-amps, when cooling, and will kill the battery within a few hours.Larry 3 Likes
