Replacing Dometic Model DM 2662 Las Vegas Area
Our 2010 LD RB, Dometic Model DM 2662 has leaked refrigerant.  Will not power on at all.  The 110 volt AC receptacle has  good power, and the fuse is good.  I would like to replace the unit and would appreciate any advice on a good replacement unit.  Camping World has a Dometic #117935 unit that appears to be the correct replacement, but I am not sure.  Also have not gotten a price for frig and labor out the door.

Was unable to schedule an appointment at the Vegas Camping World until the middle of August.  Any suggestions on a specific replacement unit, and/or shop would be great.  Our LD group has many posts on this topic, but was I was unable to find a very current one for this issue.  I am more concerned about unskilled techs damaging our LD "Ms. Daisy" with this installation than a lack of refrigeration.  Will almost! ::)

Hi Tony;  The best place to get a new refrigerator is Lazy Daze. Just 240 miles distant from you. They have 'relatively' good prices, the warranty includes no damage to your motorhome, and a 'good as new' installation.  And you get to see where your motorhome was made, although they may not let you wander around much (CV19).  They aren't open on the weekend, but you could be waiting in the parking lot Monday morning.
    If the place you are going to that Joan suggested wants to remove your window, get to the mothership right away. The new 'fridge won't fit through the door, but will fit through the window, just opened, not removed.  LD uses a good amount of caulking and a 2010 would require a lot of care and effort to actually remove the frame.     RonB

I'd have to second that! LD (Vince+1) replaced my stock fourteen year old '04 fridge in only half of a day, through the window, no sweat.   :o    8)

I don't know if the factory is doing a better job of insulation (than they did in earlier models) when installing refrigerators in new units and/or when replacing a refrigerator, but I suggest looking at the photos at Larry's Flickr link to see the replacement and insulation of the refrigerator in his 2003.

This is an on going project to increase the efficiency of the Dometic refrigerator and to keep the ice cream frozen. Lazy Daze didn't add much insulation or reduce the vent size around the exterior cooling fins."

Ms. Joan, Lazy Bones, and RonB, thank you for the suggestions to replace my refrigerator.

I am off to the Mother Ship to replace my 10 year older Dometic refrigerator.  I was informed yesterday that cooling parts, computer boards, and other gizmo's are harder to come by if you are trying to repair - not replace. 

Simply because the supply chain is breaking down.

This will give us a new fully warranted unit, and (hopefully) peace of mind when we are a miles from home during these trying times.

I think you made a good choice.  And you weren't very far from the factory!  In 2005 we were headed north to spend the summer in Alaska when our only 3 years old fridge died in the state of Oregon.  After talking to a local RV service place and calling LD, we decided to make the trip back to Montclair to know it would be done right.   A quick trip down, a couple of days at LD, and then a fast drive north again to rejoin our traveling companions.  We only lost about a week in a planned summer of travel.  That fridge's coolant leaked out in 2015 just before we sold it.  >:(
