Maiden Voyage May 09, 2020, 08:05:49 am Hello all - Here is the update from our Maiden Voyage.We made it from Scottsdale AZ to Shawano WI - left Phoenix Sunday around 2pm and made it to WI on Thursday at 4pm. Thanks to your advice we used the LD as a self contained isolation vehicle to minimize contact as much as possible. Here is our album from the trip. Lazy Daze 2000 - Maiden Voyage - Google PhotosThe downshifting made a ton of since on the hills once we put it into practice. Thanks for all the helpful replies! After all the conversation about the Scan Gauge - there was one already hooked up when we got in the RV! We were able to meet with the previous owner (After I bought the RV in March, I had it moved to a storage lot but the owner was willing to have us pop by at 730am on a Sunday with 15 minutes notice for a systems review). What a great guy! Nice, honest, thorough! I did have my RV tech / mechanic scheduled to do a walk-through with me on Saturday evening but he was stuck working a construction project 2 hours away that he couldn't leave.I found out the owner prior to him - the one that did most of the amazing upgrades, maintenance, and TLC on this unit is Kevin Lindsay from this group - I sent him an inbox but it seems like he's not active here anymore. From the threads in the forum it appears this RV has been to some of the rallys so perhaps some of you have seen it before. So, I have a lot to learn!! There is so much technology in this machine that I need to wrap my head around. I do have many questions to be coming down the line!! Please advise... Is it better to put all the questions in a list or make separate posts if the questions are unrelated? ie - if I have a question about weighing at the weigh station, the air conditioner shroud, and the rattling ventilation hatch covers. To start with - some non technical questions. Is there a place / person to submit my purchase price and RV specs for people to reference for future purchases? Any chance there is a tried and trusted mechanic / RV repair list somewhere that I might be able to find someone near me that has been vetted by a fellow Lazy Daze owner? I think that is it for now. Thanks again for being such a great community!!Jodi Good to hear that you had an uneventful trip home.Kevin and Malia Lindsay went full time in a diesel pusher a couple of years ago. I believe they ended up in a Newmar Dutch Star.It is always fine to ask questions on this forum. There are a lot of experienced folks very willing to offer help. IMO, it is best to keep each thread to a specific problem.Art 1 Likes
Re: Maiden Voyage Reply #2 – May 09, 2020, 10:50:55 am Jodi, glad the trip went well.Future questions - as I am sure you have noticed, there is a wealth of info here, once you find it. If you ask a question that leads to a lot of info, such as downshifting did, having your post and its responses all on that one topic will make finding all that information easier in the future. Therefore, my recommendation would be to limit your questions to a single subject area. An example might be a question about descending long grades. You might ask about both downshifting and using your brakes in one post, which might lead to monitoring transmission temperatures, but that would not be the place to also ask about TPMS choices.
