Movies with RV's
Have you ever noticed many movies that feature RV's are comedies? I wonder why?  One movie combines an RV and one of my favorite actors, Jack Nicholson:

Can you think of any other movies with RV's?

Walter White used an RV for some interesting things in Breaking Bad.
That thing took quite a beating.

We saw The Leisure Seeker in the theaters when it was there - Donald Sutherland & Helen Mirren.  A nice film about a last trip in their RV when one of them is struggling with Alzheimers.
Fandango - includes trailers

Currently have a 1989 TK  LD we did a lot of upgrades on.

Jane, had not heard of that one but after watching the trailer, it’s on the list! Thanks!

"The Electric Horseman." Former rodeo star Robert Redford kidnaps/liberates a famous racehorse and takes it on the lam in an old class C, but can't shake reporter Jane Fonda.

While it's not the 'star' of the movie, I feel cousin Eddies RV certainly deserves a mention.  National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Well okay then since we are on the RV movie thing, I found one YouTube “home movie” of “RV” that may be of interest to some of our LDOG friends.

Sorry Tiger. I know it’s not up to your usual standards but I thought it might take you back if only just a little. 😏

Newer movie "We're the Millers", a group of 4 people who pretend to be a family take an RV south to Mexico to load up on drugs and bring them back to the US.  They have some RV mechanical issues and are helped out by another RVer family.  The father of the helper family turns out to be a DEA agent.  Note: frequent bad language and some raunchy scenes.

Yep, that’s the BB rig!

My deceased father-in-law owned a similar Bounder which I always referred to as “that Fleetwood product.”

Over the years I've been out full timing, I've seen a lot of older Bounder RV's
still out there on the road. Seems they were reasonably well built back
in the day.

For those who enjoy the Alabama Hills,  the mountain scenes were shot on the Whitney Portal Road. Check it out in the towd.

Another great drive in that area is the Horseshow Meadows Road which climbs the Sierras south of Whitney Portal Road.  The road climbs over 5,000' in just under 16 miles.  Spectacular view of the Owens Valley.  I don't recal many guard rails along that road.

Since most of us are staying at home and probably have a little extra time on our hands, thought this would be a good time to revisit some of our favorite RV movies.

Not RV related, but kind of appropriate these days, this is what we are watching tonight. Maybe there will be an RV in one of the scenes?

I just drove by the VLA in New Mexico. Stopped for the night right next to the radio scopes and watched them move around searching for our alien overlords signal from the mother planet. 8)
Reminded me of the movie Contact, with Jodie Foster, which featured the VLA.
