Re: Harvest Hosts
This seems to be the newest thread on Harvest Host. Any recent experiences? It seems like it makes sense to join. Should be easy to find a few a year to stop at.

We have had Harvest Hosts for 4 years and love it! Stayed at a great variety of places, wineries ,Alpaca farms, Country markets, Blueberry farms, etc. Now they have added golf courses. Both US and Canada. Usually we are the only rig there so it is nice a quiet. One of the most enjoyable aspects is to sit down and have a glass of wine with the winemaker and spending an hour or so chatting.

I’m wondering if the Lazy Daze Forum could have a viable “Host” group - where owners would allow one-two day camp at their home, farm or business?  Some on the group have offered hospitality - but something that would coordinated/assisted through this site?  Perhaps this would be problematic...

Just a thought...

I took a look and saw that it mentions this in the yahoo group.  I found the post by doing a search, hence I did not see the first post stating to not reply. I guess that can happen.

I look at the locations every once in awhile, but, so far, none are close to our travels, so we haven't joined.

It looks like it might work for us. We may get to try one not too far away in Florida in a few weeks.  Then in April when we are going from NC to IA it looks like we have a few choices in MO.  Also from KS back to FL. We may have to venture off the main road a bit, but we should be able to fit that in.

We have used Harvest Host a few times now. Enjoyed all our stays, winery, brewery, brewery/pizzaria.  I check for them along our route. If they are convenient we give them a try. Hoping to find an alpaca farm along our travels. Haven't yet but I keep looking.
We think it is well worth the membership price even if we only use it a couple of times a year. It makes traveling more interesting.

I joined early in HH's existence; overnighted at four very pleasant places: two wineries, an apple orchard, and a lavender farm. The concept is an interesting one, and can be a good deal for both the 'host' and the RVer, but I didn't renew after a couple of years because very few of the host locations were convenient to where I was traveling, let alone being easily accessible for an overnight.

YMMV, as always.
