Re: Mothership Status Reply #4 – March 27, 2020, 06:08:56 pm Ford production is closed Ford, GM, Fiat Chrysler join Honda in closing US factories to slow pandemic...I did read somewhere that Ford will be opening Ohio plant (I think this is where Econoline is produced, not sure though) soon ...So for folks like me who are anxiously waiting, both LD factory as well as chassis availability may cause some delay .... 2 Likes
Re: Mothership Status Reply #5 – March 27, 2020, 11:35:50 pm We stopped by the factory on March 9 on our way back to the PNW to complete some of the paperwork on our (hopefully) 2020 MB. Things were not moving fast on the new units. Ford told them that the new chassis was a straight swap for the earlier ones. Turns out the devil is in the details. In this case the detail is the radio. As I understood Todd the old chassis came with “two open slots” for the radio. This allowed LD to put in their choice of radio. The new chassis comes with only “one open slot” and a Ford radio. To complicate matters Ford uses the radio for notification sound for the Driver Assist package. I gathered that they were unsure what they were going to do and had stopped ordering new chassis until they decided on a fix. My suggestion was leave the Ford radio and Driver Assist package alone and put a radio in the entertainment center if people want something above the For radio. Don’t think Todd was impressed. Waiting for notification from Todd that they are proceeding and a contract to sign.Ken and Pat Warner impatiently waiting 1 Likes

Re: Mothership Status Reply #9 – March 31, 2020, 09:36:50 am We got notice via snail-mail March 9th from Todd Miler that they have our 2021 chassis (plus giving us the VIN) on site and we are now waiting for the build to commence. We did not opt for the driver assist package so the radio issue may not apply to our setup. He did say it normally takes 5-months to build from start to finish. They will give us a one month lead time for a pickup date. So we are probably going out there sometime this fall. In the meantime we have plenty of projects here at the ranch to keep us more than busy all summer. As I grew up in Florida the summer heat is not an issue for me. Just have to drink plenty of water. 1 Likes
