I need an old tool... January 29, 2020, 03:52:56 pm My dad's shop had all the tools needed for most any mechanical repair or engine rebuild. I did all my serious repairs and rebuilds when I visited him.Dad had tool for inserting grease in between leaf springs. It looked like a masonry chisel with a little hole in the blade and a zerk fitting near the base of the handle. Dad would jack up a truck, wiggle the wedge in between two spring leafs and pump a dab of grease between the leaves. Rusty leaf springs would no longer creak when under a load and going over bumps. It was one of those tools that only got used every few years, but when it was needed it was an efficient way to do the job.Has anyone seen this tool? I'd like to have one and somehow Dad's got lost after he passed away.

Among other things, I found an extra engine for a '34 Ford truck in a crate, an extra '37 La Salle engine on a pallet, various parts for a 1937 Packard Limousine, various transmissions, differentials, radiators, about 20 wheels, a set of wood spoke wheels for the '23 Dodge, Wescot wrenches for four sided nuts, starters, magnetos, a wooden steering wheel from some unknown previous car, 12 vintage stereos. four Silverton radios, valve spring compressors and grinding sets, various heads( flat heads mostly) , crates of unopened vacuum tubes, several ham sets, Morse code key sets, ad nauseum... It took weeks and four different garage sales.Ken, now I have a name, I can refine my search. Thanks!Harold
