The two horns of the Ambassador 26" and 29" need to be placed close to each other. The two tone 'notes' beat against each other to produce the harmonics, and most importantly the sub harmonics. This multitude of tones plus harmonics are what make them the most heard. While many times I want to use them, (Bluebelle has the Hadley Ambassador set), most of the time they are just toooo! loud. Pleasant sounding but loud. I've heard that there may be laws in some places to prohibit use. The number of times I've used them for actual emergencies, just a handful of times, so I guess it was worth it. The 7 gallon air tank is handy for self tire filling, etc. Yes rats are particularly attracted to the rubber hoses. Use Polyurethane! RonB
