Suggestions for TV placement
Please don't banish me for all my questions! I'm all alone in this RV world and have nowhere else to turn for my multitude of concerns and inquiries.

I have a smart TV that by home standards is not that big ( I think it's big, but nobody else does). I have it sitting on my bathroom sink, but I want to be able to use that sink and, of course, I can't drive with it sitting on there.

I'd like to have it mounted somewhere that I can watch it from the rear sofa, but can't see any location that would be possible except if mounted on bathroom door, which I'm pretty sure wouldn't work.

Thoughts? I know I can get a smaller one at a relatively low price. I just kind of like the luxuriousness of having what feels like a giant TV in my little home.

Pictures of TV and cabin interior to help visualize possible placement (or unrealistic expectations).

Without seeing the floor plan, it looks like your mounting options are limited to be able to view from the rear sofa. Is that a sliding door to the bathroom? I agree with not hanging it on a door. What’s wrong with just storing the TV on the sofa or floor while driving the rig?

Another option might be mounting it in the overhead bunk to view while seated at the dinette.

I want to be able to use the rear sink at night.  And with two big dogs, putting TV on floor would likely lead to damage. The sofa is the bed of choice for the larger dog, so that won't work, either.

Overhead bunk seems to be the place of choice for many, but that's where I sleep and it would impede my ability to easily get in and out of the bunk.  My smaller dog also likes to go up there, so again, likely to lead to damage. The rear dinette wall would probably be best candidate, but I like laying on the rear couch watching TV. Feels like a separate part of the house from my kitchen. :D

And yes, the bathroom door is a slider.  And TV too heavy.

Unless I can mount it on the ceiling, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to suck it up and get a smaller TV.

Lisa,

Our factory installed 12 volt 28” TV is mounted on the cabover bulkhead wall. When in the non-viewing position, it is not blocking the overhead bed. Here’s a pic of the way LD did it.

It can pivot outward in many directions and is easily viewed from the bunk bed.

Hi Kent,

Your TV appears to be quite a bit smaller than mine. I think a smaller one would fit fine in my  LD in that location, but I was hoping to find some miraculous way of installing my current TV, which is approximately 30"+ across (diagonally).

I will probably have to get a smaller TV.

Lisa,
How about something like this Amazon.com: Impact Mounts Folding Ceiling Tv Mount Bracket Lcd Led Great for...

Attach it to the cabinet over the window and flip it up when not in use.

Linda

Thanks! I will ask the RV shop guy. My one concern is that my TV may be too heavy for the ceiling. I don't want to compromise the 30 year ceiling/roof! But this may be exactly what I need!
