Replacing the curtain glides July 16, 2019, 11:41:35 am HiI wonder if anyone is able to tell me how you replace the curtain glides. I can't seem to figure out how to get the old glides off. Many of ours have broken so the curtain aren't hanging nicely. It looks like the only way to get them off is to take the curtain track off but I was hoping that there was an easier way that I may be missing. We have a 2000 model with a metal track and have only had our LD a couple of weeks so very new to this.Any help would be appreciated.Many thanksPeta

Re: Replacing the curtain glides Reply #2 – July 17, 2019, 12:07:42 am Peta, you mean the plastic (or maybe metal pieces) that slide around inside of the curtain track?In houses, often at the end of the curtain track is a cap that can be taken off (put a screwdriver into a notch and pop it off).I just checked in our rig (89 TK), the curtain tracks seem to butt right into a wall/cabinet. They do have screws that you can see if you look up from underneath. That would take them off (yup, a pain...., but I don't see another way).Pictures would help. 2 Likes

When the first glide broke I searched the forum and found a message recommending the RV Designer A103 below. They were too small so I ordered the JR Products 81085. I found an old forum message that said you have to take the track completely off to replace the glides. I didn't want to take that on so I never did try the larger glides. What I wound up doing is ordering lined Pottery Barn curtains off ebay. I removed the curtains from the upper bunk and hung up the Pottery Barn ones. Actually I found this a better solution than the too short cab curtains. Now I can close off the cab area when running the A/C or heater for a more efficient use of energy and better privacy.I have not tried this one but it looks like it might work. Re: Replacing the curtain glides Reply #8 – July 21, 2019, 04:55:53 am Hi. I've replaced the plastic hooks on two motorhomes, my '99 and a friends 2001 MB. I've never had to remove the track. The end can be unclipped from the hold down bracket, maybe you'll need to remove an end screw. All of the glides have to slide out, and new ones slide back in. I sewed clips from LD, directly onto the curtains. No metal clips. RonB from hotel lobby in Amsterdam. LD wouldn't fit here! 1 Likes
