Sheered off lock pin for TV articulating arm

Anyone had their locking pin for the articulating arm tv mount sheer off? (Original equipment for 19" Jensen tv in 2011 24FL)

I'm fishing for solutions before I burn a lot of braincells working on it from scratch.

LD has used several different tv mounts, have any photos of the broken part?

Will try to get more pics tomorrow. The knob above was apparently the only part to fall off.

The lock pin on mine gets loose and I have to pull on the knob, as if to release the catch, and twist the shaft, screwing the lock pin back up. One day I discovered the knob on the floor. I thought it was broken, but with the help of a friend I was able to put it back on. You need to be able to extend the knob enough to hold the shaft with needle nosed pliers and then screw it back into place on the arm. My rig is a 2013 so it might have the same articulating arm as yours. I hope this helps.

No screwing it back in. No threads on knob shaft or insert collar. Definitely sheered off (metal grindings in the upper channel) and I can't find the top part.

I'm thinking a pip-pin, unless someone comes up with a better idea.

Boy oh boy, that will teach me to read the details.

Somehow I imagined something broken on the arm that raises and lowers the TV antenna on the roof. But what followed did not correlate.

Since I have no 'articulating arm' I could not picture the true situation. Sorry, I have zero experience with a problem such as that. Good luck!

My solution for now is a 1/4" x 2" hitch pin dropped in from the top. If someone comes up with a better solution, please post and I'll try it.

Did anyone else come up with a better solution for Lori Y other than using a 1/4" x 2" hitch pin dropped in from the top? I just had the exact same problem.

I would recommend calling the factory to see what they have or can suggest. There are many different types of articulating arms. Mine looks very different from Lori's. Guessing at the part you need is likely to be frustrating. The factory may be able to tell you exactly what is needed and where to get it.

I fixed it using Lauralee's suggestion. There's a spring loaded sleeve with threads inside the pin that I had to pull out with some small needle nose pliers and screw back onto the arm. I think over time of moving the arm around this pin unscrews and falls out. Maybe it needs some locktite.
