Snowed in and nowhere to go anyway
Science and politics often get confused and it's sometimes difficult to tell one from the other but I hope this is taken as science not politics. As I sat here watching it snow and looking at weather in places I want to go I'm finding even the ever dependable Death Valley is cold. I heard some stuff recently on scientists predicting a new little ice age period   and in the throes of cabin fever started researching it. Apparently it's predicted to begin in 2019 and historically these events are sudden and extreme. A new LIA is definitely not an era I want to be in for my "golden years" but it just may be in the works. Then again cabin fever may be racking my brain into delirium. Either way this is a fascinating article on the subject if you are interested in this sort of thing.

Re: snowed in, I know the feeling. We are in the midst of our third storm in a row.

Pretty bad when you can't even find warm weather in DV but the end of the month looks better. Maybe we can load up and make a mad dash.

We have spent many winter vacations in Death Valley and it is normally always cold in the middle of the winter.

Posting a 'scientific' article supporting global cooling is getting way too political and is not RV or LD related.
Let's not continue it.

Yeah my concern was it may be taken politically, you really have to walk on egg shells these days. On DV though I was going by averages. It's definitely below average now but things are looking up towards March and I may get out of here yet.  :)  On that note I'll move on and quit whining. We just took a beautiful snowshoe and returned to our cozy wood heated home to look out the windows into the beautiful winter scene with a glass of wine so all in all can't complain.

Yes you do. These are touchy times and there are plenty of places to discuss the hot topics of the day, just not here.

The forum has a membership that includes those from most every religious, political, ethnic and sexual identity group that you can think of. It's a fascinating group to get to know at our various GTGs, where the only moderation is your own good taste.

To keep a sense a harmony and to prevent discussions from spinning out of control, the volunteer moderators work hard to maintain our long-term requirements to keep the subject to LD and RV related topics. Avoiding topics of religion, guns, political, ethnic and sexual identity goes a long way to make our jobs easier.
Probing the edges to see how far one can go uses up our time needlessly.

Since we have not figured out a way to monetize it, we work for free.
