Joel, it does not seem he answered how the EMS unit would be wired. Why was the issue of an inverter generator brought up?

I don't know.   I presume that the EMS will be wired downstream of the Auto Transfer Switch to protect both.  He may have mentioned the inverter generator as he hasn't seen the rig with its onboard Onan.  He did say that if I had an Onan, it would not be a problem.   I've found that writing a check is preferable to learning by bitter experience - cheaper in the long run as well.   ;)

Still treading water from the atmospheric river that hit NorCal, and now they say El Nino is back.  He needs a couple of clear days to install the solar, so I hope to have it done before Morro Bay.
