Center Console Lost Power Breaker Box
Hi-
I was in my ‘84 LD last night and all of the coach power died, my center console has no power and it seems that I have no power at my breaker box or converter. Nothing in the coach works. Does anyone have any ideas how to get power back to my original “brown box” ?thanks in Advance,
Josh

A little more information please.
Was the rig plugged into shore power or was the rig operating on battery power?
The Power Center controls both the 12-VDC and 120-VAC power, which is out or is the rig totally without power?

Welcome to the Lazy Daze Owners' Group, Josh. What model/floorplan is your 1984?

Hi Larry-
Everything was operating on battery power. The battery shows voltage is 12.4. Thanks!

If the battery reads 12.4 and there is still no power to the Power Center, check the main circuit breaker, in the back wall of battery compartment.  Does you LD have a separate battery compartment or a single 12-volt battery located in the engine compartment, the same as our old 1983 LD was?
I don't know what year LD started installing the two golf cart batteries, when previously, it was a single group-27 deep cycle battery.

If the main breaker is OK, the 'hidden' 50-amp automatic circuit breaker may be bad. The issue is where to find them, they usually are hidden behind an access panel . The 50- amp breaker is sometimes installed with two them wired together and are located in the main wire, coming from the coach battery's positive terminal, to the Power Center's 12-volt fuse panel .
The automatic circuit breakers look like this.
Amazon.com: Camco 65226 50 AMP Straight Mount Circuit Breaker with Automatic...

Have you tried plugging the rig into shore power? If so, did the 12-volt power come back on?
Do you have a voltmeter and the knowledge to use it, if so, start tracing where the 12-volt power stops, starting at the battery, the problem could as simple as a loose connection . The problem with diagnosing electric problems remotely is there are so many possible causes.

"I don't know what year LD started installing the two golf cart batteries"

The LD Pocket Guide says 1984, but of course it might have been a mid-year change.

Thanks, Larry! I noticed two loose wires on my panel and one of the fuse holders is loose. It looks like I need to replace the power center before I do anything else. I really appreciate your assurance.

My LD has a separate battery compartment on the exterior. I had no idea there was any sort of breaker behind the battery. I will have a look. Is it accessible inside the compartment behind the battery or inside the cabinet in the coach behind the battery compartment?
Thanks!

Hi Josh. the breaker in my '99 is in the outside compartment, at the back and top. Just a button to press to reset it. (I've never had to reset it, so I can't be sure.) It is black and kind of blends in.
Power centers can be repaired, Not sure how much it would cost to replace. Perhaps Jane or Scott  can chime in. I think they replaced their power center not long ago.  Electrical Problem Circuit Breaker

Have you found the hidden automatic's circuit breaker in your LD?
A bad one will cause the same issue as a bad or tripped main breaker, and they do fail.
Our 2003 FL 's hidden breakers are located in a covered raceway, behind one of the barrels chairs.

Here is photo of what the 100-amp main breaker looks like, it's located on the rear wall of the battery box.

Hi Larry. Yes. In my rig it is right next to where I installed a self resetting breaker for my solar array years ago. Self re-setting so I wouldn't have to get to it often. Not a good place for LD to put their breaker, very hidden behind a blank wood grained panel installed with screws. Under the bathroom vanity by the coach door. Found it by accident while putting in my solar. I agree that a bad one could cause the same symptoms, but of course try the one you can see and get to first.     RonB

Hi-
I really appreciate everyone’s help but I wasn’t able to locate a breaker in my external battery box. 0-2 for the main breaker or hidden breaker in my ‘84 22’ TK.
Thanks,
Josh

Thanks for everyone’s help. I have two batteries under the hood and the breaker was located behind the battery on the driver’s side. The breaker was bad and didn’t have a reset. I am having it replaced Monday with a unit that has a fuse so I can just replace the fuse if I have a problem again.
I really appreciate the assistance,
Josh
